WANT: Zip line ride in Earl Bales Park
WANT: Zip line ride in Earl Bales Park
It's not exactly a sustainable transit solution for the city's road congestion, but it's pretty neat all the same: a company wants to bring zip lines to Toronto's Earl Bales Park. According to the Toronto Star:
The Vermont-based ArborTrek Canopy Adventures approached Councillor James Pasternak with a 21-page pitch last November to build and operate zip-lines, canopy tours and aerial-trekking courses at the park, near Bathurst St. and Sheppard Ave. W. It would be the first attraction of its kind in the GTA, though there are other zip-line locations in the province.
“People who’ve tried zip-lining in the past who I spoke to absolutely love it,” Pasternak told the Star. “The company talked about how their whole approach is tree-friendly, and how it’s self-operating, self-financing and that no city funds would be required to set it up.”
Zip lining is really fun and here's hoping Toronto City Council gives this idea a fair look at the very least. Pasternak's ward isn't exactly centrally located, but it's a lot closer than Collingwood, where you can do this:
