In a previous life, Wilf Dinnick was CNN’s United Arab Emirates-based International correspondent. Dinnick was responsible for covering the region that includes Pakistan, Afghanistan, parts of Africa and the Middle East.

Prior to joining CNN in October 2007, Dinnick was the Middle East correspondent for ABC News. Named to that position in July 2005, Dinnick was based in Jerusalem and covered the Middle East for all ABC News broadcasts and platforms.

Dinnick has covered many stories, including the war in Iraq, Afghanistan’s first democratic elections, the tsunami in South Asia, the death of Pope John Paul II and the Orange Revolution in Ukraine. His reporting has taken him around the world, including Pakistan, Kuwait, Haiti, Iraq, Poland, Indonesia, Afghanistan and Ukraine.

Before joining ABC, Dinnick spent almost four years at Global National, one of Canada’s three national news networks. In 2004 Dinnick made a four-week trek across Canada on a bus covering the federal election. His coverage, which earned an Edward R. Murrow Award, was broadcast live each night from 20 villages, towns and cities across the country.

He has also worked at Canadian broadcasters CBC and CTV News.

Dinnick has won several awards, including best continuing coverage of America's War on Terror, chosen by the news directors of Canada.
